Uzbekistan and China discuss strengthening bilateral ties at SCO summit

ASTANA, July 4 – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chinese President Xi Jinping met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Astana to discuss the further strengthening of bilateral relations, reports Trend via the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.

The meeting highlighted significant progress in all areas of bilateral interaction between the two countries in recent years. The leaders also exchanged views on current regional and international issues.

Additionally, they discussed the continuation of close cooperation within the framework of the UN, the SCO, the Central Asia-China format, and other international and regional structures. Both parties expressed the need to increase partnerships in tourism, science, education, workforce training, and Chinese language studies.
