London:- Poetry isn’t born in salons but is often there. And this is what happened on 11th August 2022, when its faithful servants gathered in the Jazze Caffe of the Polish Social and Cultural Center in London on a summer evening; Those who breathe it; are the creators and they are an audience.

On this hot day, poets met at POSK for a monthly reading and presentation of their works. Adam Siemieńczyk is the creator and originator of these artistic events. Marta Brassart said, “We were able to host poets who come from Poland but are living in the UK – we are looking for shelter and security in exile. And poetry with all its richness creates new meanings of well-known symbols” –

The fascinating project by Adam Siemiańczyk absorbs not only the lovers of the word because it has an interdisciplinary character, and in its original assumptions, it is based on the intersemiotic translation method. For example, based on a poem by Marta Brassart, there were created: a book by Adam Siemiańczyk and a sculpture by Richard Slee. New products of art can be created as a context, continuation or interpretation.

London poetry meetings apart from the artistic dimension, have also therapeutic nature, as Adam Siemiańczyk recalls: “PoEzja Londyn is a platform for a poem – during our meetings and as a kind of awareness that gives the poet the feeling of being among people where the reception can happen. The culture is created by an alive community. It is a unique time when we can meet and changes. We become less lonely. Only because we can tell someone about it. ”

One of the main goals of the project is precisely to combine; not only the arts but also the people, which is emphasized by Dariusz A. Zeller: “Our meetings named PoEzja Londyn are extremely important for me, Adam Siemieńczyk and Marta Brassart, because, by joining forces, we act with redoubled energy to popularize culture and art. This cycle functions beyond divisions. The characters of the interviews are people from different countries and cultures, using different languages. However, we are connected by the art of creation, because they are not only literate but representatives of various fields and professions. And all this under the banner of the oGródek Poetycki which appears on the pages of Cooltura and the Cooltura24 portal. On the other hand, what applies to the awarding of medals to them? Barbara Jurkowska-Nawrocka, the people distinguished by us represent different countries, cultures and religions, but they have one thing in common – the universal language of art. In this case, the criterion for awarding them is also one – the art to be a human. ”

In that poetry event, artists gathered from various fields of art and an exceptional audience (including Dr Eliza Szadkowska) and journalists. Raza Syed, who lives in London (and supports Adam’s social and artistic activities with his pen), said: “Last night I was invited to a Polish poetry and music event. When I left the house, all these people were strangers to me. When I got back, they were already my family. ” These beautiful words fall deeply into the heart. It is difficult to describe the magic of the evening.
