Belgium showcases top Aerospace companies at Farnborough 2024

BRUSSELS/FARNBOROUGH, 18 July/PR/– Belgium’s Flanders Investment & Trade, in collaboration with the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency, is showcasing a selection of Belgium’s leading aerospace companies at Farnborough International from 22-26 July 2024. These companies specialize in producing critical components for aircraft, spacecraft, helicopters, flight simulators, engines, avionics, landing gears, and other essential parts.

Flanders Investment & Trade is the principal organiser of the Belgium Pavilion at the 2024 Farnborough International, with the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency co-hosting the Belgian Industry Day and networking mixer on 24 July, as well as the Belgium-UK Matchmaking event on 25 July.

ADS, representing over 1,300 members from the UK’s aerospace, defence, security, and space sectors, along with BAE Systems, will co-host the Belgium-UK Aerospace & Defence Industry matchmaking event on Thursday, 25 July, at the BAE Systems Stand, Hall 5, from 09:00 – 11:00 AM.

Baudouin de Hemptinne, Trade & Commercial Counsellor at the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (UK), stated, “Belgium’s expertise in Aerospace & Defence continues to attract substantial investment to Wallonia, with all major aerospace companies present in Belgium. Our companies hold significant positions in the industry through an innovative pool of SMEs specializing in composite materials, software simulation, additive manufacturing, high-tech critical parts, advanced materials, electrical systems, and more.”

The Wallonia Export & Investment Agency is hosting the following European Aerospace & Defence companies: Safran Aero Boosters, SONACA, Feronyl, Coexpair, Mecasoft, BeCover, Mockel Precision, and Sensy Load Cells.

On 9 July, Ariane 6 completed its first flight, launching from the Guiana Space Centre. This achievement marks a significant success for the European space sector and ArianeGroup, the lead contractor of the Ariane 6 programme, which is a joint venture between Safran and Airbus.
