Sardar Naqi Lal, also known as S.N. Lal, is a prominent figure in the world of Safat and Musnif. He has authored a book titled ‘Azadari and Awadh,’ which focuses on the observance of Azadari in India. This book has been published in Hindi and Urdu with the aim of educating everyone, especially non-Muslims, about the significance of Azadari.

The key aspect of SN Lal Sahab’s work is to ensure that the true purpose of Imam Hussain Alaihissalam’s sacrifice reaches non-Muslims accurately. He has been dedicatedly pursuing this goal for 40 years. In 1981, he initiated an ‘Islamic Quiz’ program, inviting non-Muslim children from high school to graduation levels. These students participated in quiz programs centered around the topic of ‘Karbala,’ with ample preparation material provided in advance. The children would study and familiarize themselves with the events of Karbala, allowing them to grasp the correct message behind Imam Hussain’s sacrifices. Prizes were awarded to the winning participants. Renowned Journalist, TV Anchore & Writer Mr. Shakeel Hasan Shamsi served as the quiz master. This program continued for several years.

Subsequently, a light and sound program on Karbala itself was organized. During this program, the script written by S.N. Lal Sahab on Karbala was recited by notable figures such as Nawab Masood Abdullah, the Nawab of Lucknow and Shanne Naqvi, the brother of renowned journalist Saeed Naqvi. The recitations were accompanied by visual presentations on a screen, enhancing the transmission of the message of Imam Hussain Alaihissalam to the audience.

Starting in 2009, S.N. Lal Sahab initiated the ‘Moharram Exhibition,’ which has been organized for the past 15 years. This exhibition showcases photographs, paintings, and Islamic calligraphy. It is accessible through the internet, featuring photos from various countries worldwide, illustrating how the commemoration of freedom is observed in different nations. The exhibition also displays artwork depicting the events of Karbala and includes Islamic calligraphy. Visitors, both Muslim and non-Muslim, are provided with insights into the sacrifice of Imam Hussain A.S. and receive related brochures.

S.N. Lal Sahab’s work is truly remarkable, as his programs have dispelled misconceptions about the concept of freedom and have instilled love for Imam Hussain A.S. in people’s hearts.
