TASHKENT(Correspondent LP) The first four months of 2023, Kazakhstan emerged as the leading importer of Uzbek-made footwear, purchasing a remarkable 4.1 million pairs. The Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan reported that during this period, Uzbekistan successfully exported a total of 8.4 million pairs of shoes to 11 countries, amounting to a value of $12.5 million.
The export data reveals the significant growth and demand for Uzbek-made footwear in international markets. Among the top importers, Kazakhstan took the lead with its substantial order of 4.1 million pairs of shoes. The neighboring country has increasingly recognized the quality and craftsmanship of Uzbekistan’s footwear industry, resulting in a surge in imports.
Following closely behind, Kyrgyzstan imported 2.4 million pairs of shoes, further establishing itself as a significant market for Uzbek footwear. Tajikistan, another neighboring country, showed a strong demand by importing 1.3 million pairs of shoes, further contributing to Uzbekistan’s export success.
Russia, a key market for various industries, including footwear, imported 228 thousand pairs of shoes during the same period. While the number may be comparatively smaller, it still represents a significant contribution to Uzbekistan’s export figures and highlights the country’s expanding reach into international markets.
