Chinese Embassy denounces UK allegations of Cyberattacks as baseless

LONDON – The UK government accused China of conducting cyberattacks against the UK without substantiated evidence. The government announced sanctions on two Chinese individuals and one entity in response to these allegations. The Chinese Embassy in the UK issued a statement strongly condemning the UK’s actions.

According to the embassy’s statement, The UK’s allegations that China is behind malicious cyber campaigns targeting the UK are baseless and amount to defamatory accusations”. We vehemently oppose and strongly condemn this, and we have lodged a serious protest with the UK.

China is a significant victim of cyberattacks. We have resolutely combated and halted all forms of malicious cyber activities in accordance with the law, and we have never endorsed, supported, or condoned cyberattacks. The UK’s groundless hype about so-called “Chinese cyber attacks” and the announcement of sanctions are blatant political manipulation and defamatory slander.

China has always adhered to the principle of non-interference in other countries’ internal affairs. We have no interest or need to interfere in the UK’s internal affairs. The British people will eventually judge whether their government is good or bad.

The UK has falsely accused China of attempting to interfere with UK democracy. This is nothing more than a publicity stunt and a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black.

China has always opposed illegal unilateral sanctions and will respond appropriately and necessarily to this.

We strongly urge the UK to immediately cease spreading false information about China, stop staging anti-China farces, and refrain from further pursuing a misguided path that will only lead to failure.
