Security Council meets today on Israeli strike: Russian Mission

UNITED NATION/TASS/ – Dmitry Polyansky, the Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, announced that the UN Security Council will conduct an open meeting. This meeting, requested by Russia, will discuss the Israeli attack on an Iranian diplomatic establishment in Syria that occurred on the same day.

In response to Israel’s airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, the Iranians have appealed to the UN Security Council to denounce this act. Subsequent to their letter, we have asked for an open briefing of the UN Security Council. The meeting has been scheduled by the Maltese presidency for 3:00 PM New York time (10:00 PM Moscow time) on April 2nd, as stated on social media.
