WASHINGTON (AP) U.S. intelligence suggests China is considering providing Russia with arms and ammunition, a Kremlin involvement in war that raises ‘serious problems’ said Secretary of State Anthony Brinken.

Brinken said the United States had long been concerned about China supplying weapons to Russia. He said Chinese President Xi Jinping promised Russian President Vladimir Putin a borderless partnership when they met just weeks before Putin sent troops to Ukraine on February 24, 2022. I mentioned that Since then, the relationship between the two countries has grown stronger and stronger. “We have observed it very carefully. Most of the time China is busy providing rhetorical, political and diplomatic support to Russia, but lethal support to Russia in its war with Ukraine “There is information that worries us that they are considering providing a It was aired on Sunday, the day after the meeting.

“It was important to make it clear to Wang Yi that this was going to be a serious problem,” Blinken said.

As the war drew to a close, Putin decided to show progress on the battlefield and Russian forces went on the offensive in eastern Ukraine.

“Ukraine is very strong and Russia has suffered a terrifying toll,” Brinken said. He estimates that 97% of Russia’s ground forces are stationed in Ukraine.

Russia is also eager to seize more territory before Ukraine acquires the more advanced weapons recently promised by the United States and its European allies.

“But what Secretary Blinken said is big news to me,” said Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. China should be cracked down,” he said, admonishing Chinese leaders not to act rashly.

“The Chinese are idiots to join Putin’s bandwagon now,” he said. “It’s like buying Titanic tickets after seeing a movie. Don’t do that.”

Mr Graham said it was “the most tragic event that could happen to US-China relations”. it will change everything forever.

Tensions between Washington and Beijing have escalated in recent weeks after the US shot down an alleged Chinese spy balloon. China is off course, claiming it was used primarily for meteorological research.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas Greenfield also expressed her concern about China’s attempt to arm Russia, saying “that would draw the line”.

Former Army Deputy Chief of Staff Jack Keene said he agreed with the Biden administration’s decision to expose the possibility that China is trying to supply Russia with some deadly weapons. He said it could persuade China to exercise restraint.

“And I think I’ll come out and expose. I’ll go further and tell you what we think they’re going to offer.
