BRUSSELS/Imran Saqib Ch/ – The last Friday of Ramadan saw a significant protest at the Israeli embassy in Brussels, organised by Justice without Borders. A diverse crowd of participants brandished signs and banners decrying the situation in Palestine.
Speakers at the event denounced the actions against Palestinians, criticizing international bodies, including the European Union, for their passive stance. They argued that these organizations defend Israel’s measures as self-defense rather than addressing the issue as a genocide.
The speakers also highlighted a perceived double standard in international discourse, noting the silence on the plight of Palestinian women while other nations are censured for women’s rights violations.
A Palestinian journalist at the event labeled Palestine as perilous for media professionals, citing the deaths of 136 journalists, the detention of 28, and injuries to over 20.
The call to action was clear: the European Union must halt the atrocities against Palestinians and bring Israeli leaders to account for war crimes before the International Court of Justice.
