BRUSSELS, Dec 09(Imran Saqib/Correspondent LP): The European Union has reiterated its unwavering commitment to human rights, emphasizing that these rights are applicable everywhere and at all times, including during conflicts or crises. The EU stressed that meaningful and lasting change can only be achieved through tireless dedication to human rights, collaboration among global actors, empowerment of young individuals as agents of change, and practical support to enable each person to realize their rights.

The EU remains steadfast in its support for human rights defenders, civil society, journalists, and media workers, as well as all those calling for peace, truth, justice, and accountability.

Aligning with the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and driven by new momentum from the Pact for the Future, the EU stands united with the United Nations, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and global partners in urging all states to uphold and fulfill their human rights obligations. As the EU celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe, it reaffirmed its commitment to accede to the European Convention on Human Rights.

The EU pledges to continue promoting and protecting human rights for everyone, everywhere, under the banner “Your Rights, Your Future, Right Now and Always.”
