PARIS, France.September 03/Correspondent LP/ — Amidst a time of profound global crisis, with ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza, and the looming threat of wider escalation, the Community of Sant’Egidio, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Paris, is organizing the International Meeting “Imaginer la Paix – Imagine Peace.” From September 22 to 24, peace advocates from across Europe and other continents will gather in Paris to exchange ideas and raise their voices against the devastation of war, the displacement of thousands, and the loss of innocent lives.

The meeting will kick off on September 22 at the Palais des Congrès, with over 20 panels scheduled throughout Paris. Key topics include peace and disarmament, the environmental crisis, migration, democracy, and solidarity. Prominent figures, including French President Emmanuel Macron, leaders from various religious traditions, and cultural icons such as French academic Amin Maalouf, will participate. The event will culminate in a final ceremony at the parvis of Notre Dame Cathedral, featuring a message from Pope Francis, testimonies from war-torn countries, and a call for peace directed at global policymakers. Significant participation is expected, particularly from the youth of different European nations.
