ASTANA (Raza Syed) November 18 – According to a survey conducted by London Post in Astana, more than 90 percent of respondents specially young generation, showed their willingness to vote in the upcoming presidential elections.
The Kazakh people said that the current president’s decision to hold early elections indicates a democratic mindset and shows that the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is in favour of democracy in the country.
Through survey, London Post found that the current president is very popular there. People say that Kazakhstan is now on the path of development and all this is possible due to the best policies of the current government.
The country will be strong not only economically but also politically. “The sooner you have political stability, the quicker you will have economic stability. Time is of the essence for Kazakhstan,” people said.
There are six candidates in Kazakhstan’s snap presidential race, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev(Present president), Zhiguli Dairabayev(Auyl party),Meiram Kazhyken (Commonwealth of Amanat Trade Unions), Karakat Abden(National Alliance of Professional Social Workers),Saltanat Tursynbekova is the candidate of the Qazaq Analary and Nurlan Auesbayev(National Social Democratic Party).
Kazakh people living abroad will exercise their right to vote by going to the Kazakh embassies in these countries. For this purpose, polling stations will be established in the Kazakh embassies in 53 countries around the world. Polling will be started at 7 a.m. and would continue without any break till 8 p.m., according to the local time. As earlier reported, the presidential elections will be held in Kazakhstan on November 20.
