TASHKENT,April 5/Trend news agency/ – Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are currently collaborating to form a joint venture that will propel the development of the Trans-Afghan corridor.
This collaboration was a key topic of conversation between Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The two leaders are keen on establishing a partnership between their respective national railway companies to play an active role in enhancing the Trans-Afghan route.
Originating from an Uzbek proposal in December 2018, the Trans-Afghan railway initiative seeks to expand Afghanistan’s railway network from Mazar-e-Sharif through Kabul and onward to Paktia province.
