Elena Kalashnikova, head of the Kyrgyzstan Tourism Development Fund, has received international recognition. Her photo was placed on the cover of the prestigious British magazine OCA MAGAZINE. The magazine has been specializing in promoting the culture and art of Eurasia for 15 years. Elena Anatolievna was also nominated for a prestigious award from Hertfordshire Press.
Elena Kalashnikova is an experienced manager who has been actively involved in the development of the tourism industry in Kyrgyzstan for over 30 years. She has achieved significant success in this field, implementing various projects to attract tourists to the region.
The cover of OCA MAGAZINE magazine with the picture of Elena Kalashnikova was issued in June of this year, as a recognized expert in the tourism sphere, who contributed a lot to the development of Kyrgyzstan. She also told readers about its natural and historical attractions.
The magazine has been published since 2008 in London and is the only print media outlet in the U.K. that specializes in countries in the Eurasian region. Readers and authors of the magazine are both diplomatic corps and representatives of the political, business and cultural elite of Great Britain and countries of the region. Ms. Kalashnikova is the first woman from Kyrgyzstan whose photo was placed on the cover of OCA magazine.
In addition, Elena Kalashnikova was also included in the list of nominees for the “Travel Publishing Excellence Award” from the British publishing house Hertfordshire Press (HP) together with Olzhas Shintayev, an active leader in tourism development in the South Kazakhstan region and Shymkent city.
Nomination for the “Travel Publishing Excellence Award” is yet another confirmation of Elena Kalashnikova’s competence and professionalism.
Besides, it confirms the growing popularity of Kyrgyzstan as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world. With the support of Elena in 20 years in London there were published Discovery Kyrgyzstan guides in Russian, English, Japanese, French and German languages with a total circulation of more than 100,000 copies, photo album Silk Road Revisited and 100 Experiences of Kyrgyzstan, which became the alpha and omega among the reference books about Kyrgyzstan tourism in the English-speaking space.
The Hertfordshire Press Awards ceremony will take place October 27-29, 2023 in Glasgow, UK.
Two years ago, Glasgow already drew public attention to the country – during President Sadyr Japarov’s visit to the COP26 conference and now Glasgow will again be a place of recognition of tourism achievements in Kyrgyzstan.
