TEHRAN,Iran.OCT 08/Press TV/–Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei says one year of Israel’s barbarism in the besieged Gaza Strip has only generated further outrage across the Muslim world.

Baghaei said in a message on X that Israel’s genocidal campaign has convinced all Muslims around the world that “the right of Palestinians to self-determination” has to be restored.

“A long year of brutal death and senseless destruction in Gaza has only further outraged the people in the Islamic world and convinced all that there is no way other than noble #resistance to restore Palestinian right to self-determination and to live in peace and dignity.”

Monday marked one year since Israel launched its bloodiest-ever military campaign in Gaza.

The official death toll stands at nearly 42,000, with about 100,000 injured and 10,000 missing. The majority of the casualties are women and children, health officials say.

In addition to lives lost, a humanitarian crisis has unfolded in the besieged Palestinian territory, including the collapse of the health care system, since October 7, 2023.

The populated coastal Palestinian territory is seeing shortages of food, clean water and medicine, and famine is said to be spreading throughout Gaza, according to the United Nations. A considerable number of the child victims have died of starvation.

The regime’s war machine, the UN says, has displaced 90% of Gaza’s roughly 2.3 million people, many of whom have been displaced multiple times within Gaza.

Emboldened by the ironclad support from the United States, Israel perpetrates the most heinous crimes against humanity with impunity.
