Islamabad, October 13 (special correspondent) – Nazir Khan 64, a cancer stage four patient, is on death bed, claims, he reached this condition because of the NHS and the incompetent Doctors in the UK.
Mr Khan is a British citizen, and a resident of Hull, England. In the first week of June, he went to his GP, at St Andrew Surgery, Hull due to severe back pain. He was seen by Dr Joshi who gave him some painkillers and lotion but the pain was still there. After two weeks he visited again same clinic, this time he was observed by Dr Maha, and told her about the pain, which was severe in nature and couldn’t be cured through prescribed medicine. Mr Khan told his GP that at night he cried due to pain. The GP recommended an X-ray and gave some new medicine but the pain was getting severe day by day. He visited again the same clinic in a week and requested to admit him to a hospital and proper diagnostics but his requests were rejected and again more painkillers were given.
Mr Khan said he visited Royal Hospital and requested them too for proper treatment and admit him but his request was refused there as well. Mr Nazir claimed that due to his highly bad condition he called the ambulance twice but in the end, the same painkillers were given. After several visits to St Andrew Surgery, he was finally recommended for a CT scan in August, which he requested many times earlier. However, when he reached to hospital, he was told that only some minor tests could be taken at that stage and a CT scan could be done after four weeks. It was a hopeless situation for the patient who was crying due to pain but Doctors kept giving them the same medicine and no proper treatment was initiated.
Nazir Khan told he visited almost six doctors and two hospitals over three months and every time he requested proper diagnostics and treatment but at all times he was given painkillers. He claimed that he requested several times for a CT scan and MRI but every time he was asked to wait.
After suffering three months in severe pain and hopelessness from the entire medical system of the UK, finally he moved back to Pakistan. The very next day he found he is a stage four cancer patient. After medical tests, it was diagnosed this disease could be curable and operated but now it’s too late. Senior Doctors of Oncology in Pakistan told him if his treatment was initiated earlier when he felt pain he would be safe now from this deadly disease. The negligence of NHS doctors made him close to death.
Mr Nazir is now under treatment in Pakistan and doesn’t wanna come back to the UK and he tells everybody there how NHS made him in this miserable condition.
