Prince attends royal birthday religious event

Brunei Darruslaam (London Post)- Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, as the Secretariat of the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA), held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony yesterday in conjunction with the 49th birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.
His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik as the Chairman of the Committee of Governors of Yayasan was present.

In attendance to greet His Royal Highness at An-Naura Hall of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Shopping Complex in the capital were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, as Chairman of DANA Board of Trustees; Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar as Deputy Chairman of DANA Board of Trustees; and Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak who is also the Acting Managing Director of Yayasan.

The ceremony began with a mass Asar prayer led by Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Kesyukuran.

DANA is a lasting pesambah in the form of Yayasan Charity presented by Yayasan to mark and commemorate the proclamation of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah as the Crown Prince on August 10, 1998. DANA was founded on August 25, 1998.

Yayasan board members and DANA board members were also present.

Guests included full-time staff of DANA, staff and staff of Yayasan, and teachers of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
