PARIS, France – Oct 07(Correspondent LP) – Renowned Chef Kim Do-eun will bring the flavors of Korea to Paris as she participates in the Montmartre Harvest Festival from October 11 to 13. Following her recent appearance at Taste London 2024, the first gastronomic festival in the UK, Chef Kim will prepare a selection of traditional dishes from the Andong region at Stand No. 8, Rue Azais.
This culinary event comes at a time when France is increasingly embracing K-Food, paralleling the popularity of K-Pop and K-Drama. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to taste authentic Korean dishes such as Jeongyea (braised chicken) and Bulgogi (marinated and grilled meat). These dishes will be prepared using recipes from the Soo Woon Jap Bang, a cookbook recognized as a national treasure in Korea, which dates back 500 years.
The cookbook, meticulously compiled by scholar Kim Yoo (1491-1555), offers a glimpse into the preparation of traditional Korean alcohols and culinary specialties, preserving the rich heritage of Korean gastronomy.
The Montmartre Harvest Festival this year aims to highlight and celebrate the art of living and cultural traditions classified as intangible heritage by UNESCO, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to explore and appreciate Korean culinary heritage.
