DOHA,Qatar: Qatar Airways (QR), based in Doha Hamad International Airport, has acquired three slot pairs at London Heathrow Airport, courtesy of Air Mauritius (MK), which is relocating its London operations to London Gatwick.

Records maintained by Airport Coordination Ltd reveal that Qatar Airways has successfully secured slots for the Winter 2023/24 season, specifically for flights departing from Doha Hamad International on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The airline intends to deploy the B777-300(ER) aircraft for these services.

Air Mauritius has opted to transfer its operations to Gatwick to offer daily and consistent connectivity to London, thereby replacing its current 5x weekly service to Heathrow. In addition to the three slots at Heathrow now earmarked for Qatar Airways, Air Mauritius also leases two other slot pairs, currently in use, from Royal Brunei Airlines (BI), headquartered in Bandar Seri Begawan.

According to data from the ch-aviation schedules module, Qatar Airways presently operates daily flights to Gatwick and offers up to 7x daily services to Heathrow.
