MOSCOW(TASS)- Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a number of bold national projects to improve the living standards of the people and boost the country’s development in his annual State of the Nation Address to the Federal Assembly.
The “Family” project is one of the key initiatives, which aims to provide more support for families with children and encourage higher birth rates. Putin stressed the need to continue working for the welfare of families with children and launched this new national project.
The “Long and Active Life” project is another major initiative, which seeks to increase the life expectancy to 78 years by 2030, and eventually to over 80 years. Putin urged the people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and said the federal programs to fight common health problems such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and diabetes will go on.
The “Russia’s Youth” project is a new initiative to support and inspire the young Russians and create a strong youth policy framework. Putin highlighted the crucial role of the younger generation in safeguarding Russia’s sovereignty and suggested the implementation of this new national project.
The “Human Resources” project is another initiative to develop a talented workforce through focused support for professional development, education, and training. Putin pointed out the importance of equipping today’s youth for the challenges of the 21st-century economy, stressing the strategic value of human capital development.
The “Data Economy” project is a plan to leverage technology for economic growth, which will get significant funding for the next six years. This project aims to create digital platforms for key sectors, enabling effective planning and customized delivery of government services.
The “Technological Sovereignty” project is a plan to strengthen Russia’s technological independence through new national projects in vital sectors such as production tools, robotics, transportation systems, and novel materials. Putin emphasized the need to promote innovation and produce globally competitive products based on domestic expertise.
