WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States on Tuesday announced new sanctions against Iranian companies and individuals accused of procuring equipment for Iran’s drones.
The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, working with the FBI, named her four companies in Iran and Turkey and her three individuals. These individuals allegedly purchased equipment including European-made engines used in Iranian drones and weapons programs that should use Iran.
The sanctions include the Iran-based Defense Technological and Scientific Research Center, its procurement company Farazan Industrial Engineering, and corporate buyers.
Brian Nelson, the U.S. Treasury Department’s undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, said: “Iran’s proliferation of unmanned aerial vehicles and conventional weapons to proxy states is well-documented and a threat to regional security and global security. continue to undermine the stability of Nelson was referring to unmanned aerial vehicles.

A US defense official says Iran is supplying Russia with unmanned drones to use against civilians as the Kremlin advances its second-year invasion of Ukraine.
Among other things, sanctions deny people and companies access to property and financial assets held in the United States and prevent US companies and firms from doing business with them.
Tensions between the US and Iran have escalated after months of anti-government protests.
