ISLAMABAD, Pakistan(DND News Agency) – Reliable sources among Afghanistan government have confirmed that latest standoff with Pakistan was orchestrated by Mullah Yaqoob.

Sources say that Afghan regime is divided into three major factions,
• Mullah Yaqoob who is mending ties with India, recent visit of interim Foreign Minister Mutaqi cements the fact.
• Sirajuddin Haqqani who believes himself to be neglected and not taken in confidence on major matters.
• Mullah Haibatullah Akhunzada, though the supreme leader but has no public appearance and dwindling control on Taliban factions.

Mullah Yaqoob considers himself as the rightful heir of Afghan Taliban, being the son of Founder Mullah Umer and Defence minister controlling the defence forces. Sources believe that Yaqoob might have some collusion with Indians and on their behest waged a short term war with Pakistan. Yaqoob believes that a notion of victory will overshadow other two strong figures and bring him to prominence which will cement his control on all factions of Taliban. Yaqoob already controls Afghanistan’s media, hence “the greedy stirred up the conflict” believing short action will bring him right results.

Afghanistan has some differences with Pakistan but they were never that far which calls for a war, these could always been solved on table. Pakistan has long been accusing Afghan Interim Government to take action against Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which Kabul denies having any footprint in Afghanistan. Starting a conflict just a day after Mutaqi – J Shankar meet raise the eyebrows.

A recent article on Mullah Yaqoob’s controlled Amaj news, accusing Sirajjudin Haqqani of facilitating Pakistan also proves the internal tug of war in Taliban regime.

Will Mullah Yaqoob Succeed in his endeavours or will he take Taliban’s Afghanistan to further death and destruction???
Surely it’s destruction, as it’s said ”It takes one to start a war, but two to end.”
