LONDON: Ryanair has alerted its passengers travelling to and from the UK on Thursday December 21 that their flights may be affected by strong winds. The airline said it will notify the passengers who are impacted and advised them to check the Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight.

Ryanair apologised for any inconvenience caused by the weather conditions, which are beyond its control and impact all airlines flying to and from the UK on Thursday December 21.

British Airways also cancelled more than 20 domestic and European flights due to the strong winds.

The UK is facing Storm Pia, which is expected to bring gales of up to 80mph in some areas. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning and advised people to take care. The storm has also disrupted rail services and forced the cancellation of Liverpool Christmas Market.

Passengers are advised to check the status of their flight before heading to the airport, as there may be delays. Airlines should contact passengers directly if their flight is cancelled or delayed, and passengers can also contact their airline for more information.

Passengers who have their flight cancelled are usually entitled to a free alternative flight, even if it is on a different airline.
