2026 World Cup hosts accept diplomatic takeover from Qatar


Lusail, Qatar (AP) December,18 Diplomatic delegations from the three host nations of the 2026 World Cup travelled to Qatar on Sunday for a handover ceremony ahead of the final between France and Argentina.

The United States, Mexico and Canada will host the most significant soccer events in three and a half years.

The 2026 tournament will be held in 16 cities.
The schedule has been set as it has been planned to be organised that matches would be held 11 in the US, 3 in Mexico and 2 in Canada. Argentina won the title after beating France 4-2 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in Qatar.
