The Russian defense ministry announced that its forces successfully foiled a “terrorist attack” by Ukraine on the Black Sea port city of Sevastopol in Crimea. The attack, comprising seven unmanned aerial vehicles and two unmanned semi-submersible boats, was thwarted near Sevastopol, with several aerial and underwater drones destroyed in the process.

According to the ministry’s statement on the Telegram messaging app, no casualties or damage occurred as a result of the attack. Russian forces shot down two aerial drones over the Black Sea at a significant distance from the coastline, while five were intercepted by the country’s electronic warfare forces.

Additionally, two unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) were discovered in the northern part of the Black Sea and subsequently destroyed by fire.

Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev corroborated the defense ministry’s account, stating that the Russian Air Force and Navy units effectively repelled UAV drone attacks on Sevastopol over the sea, encompassing Cape Khersones, Sevastopol Bay, and Balaklava.
