BRUSSELS(Imran Saqib Chouhdary)-Arab ambassadors to the European Union (EU) have come together to issue a fervent plea for the EU to halt what they perceive as Israel’s unrelenting aggression in Gaza and blatant violations of international law. In a news conference held in Brussels, Palestinian Ambassador Abdalrahim Alfarra asserted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has pursued an “extremist” policy since he took the helm of the nation, pointing to the dire situation in Gaza, marked by a harrowing 17-year blockade.

Alfarra, representing a unified voice on behalf of his fellow Arab ambassadors, decried Israel’s actions as being carried out in plain view of the international community, with the alleged aim of “wiping Palestine off the map.” In a passionate call to action, he demanded that both the EU and its member states promptly intervene to prevent what he characterized as an ongoing “massacre of civilians” in Gaza and to hold Israel accountable for its transgressions against international law.

The Arab envoys have urged the EU to take swift and decisive measures, underlining the gravity of the situation and the urgency of bringing an end to the violence and addressing the alleged violations of international legal norms. The call comes amid intensifying tensions in the region, where Israel’s actions and policies have been the subject of international scrutiny and concern.

This impassioned appeal by the Arab ambassadors underscores the pressing need for a concerted response from the EU, potentially signaling a shift in the regional diplomatic landscape as the situation continues to unfold.
