The ceremony was followed by an open house gathering in connection with Eid celebrations, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Moreover, it provided an opportunity for attendees to exchange greetings and strengthen ties within the expatriate community.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador H.E. Rahim Hayat Qureshi emphasized that the occasion was being observed with simplicity and dignity at the Chancery. He acknowledged ongoing regional difficulties but stressed that resilience and unity remain central to Pakistan’s strength.

Pakistan National Day, observed annually on March 23, marks the historic Lahore Resolution of 1940, which called for a separate homeland for Muslims, a defining step toward independence. This year’s observance in Brussels, while modest in scale, carried a tone of reflection and resilience, aligning with broader global sensitivities.

The Ambassador also emphasized the significance of Pakistan’s relations with Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union, highlighting the EU as Pakistan’s second-largest trading partner.

The gathering ended with a collective prayer, highlighting both reflection and hope for the country’s future.
