Alaska (AFP) – Two US military helicopters crashed in Alaska on Thursday while returning from a training flight, killing three soldiers and injuring a fourth.
Two of his soldiers died in a crash near Healy, Alaska, and a third died en route to a hospital in Fairbanks. A fourth soldier was being treated for injuries in a hospital, the military said in a statement.
The names of those killed will be withheld until relatives are notified, the military said.
Each of the AH-64 Apache helicopters was carrying two of his crew at the time of the crash, U.S. Army Alaska spokesman John Pennell said Thursday.
