ISLAMABAD: Following an “unprovoked airspace violation and missile attack in Balochistan,” Pakistan retaliated on Thursday by targeting terrorist bases within the Iranian border, as reported by the Foreign Ministry.

Pakistan executed a series of highly coordinated and targeted precision military strikes against terrorist bases in the Siestan Baluchistan province of Iran this morning. The intelligence-based operation, codenamed ‘Marg Bar Sarmachar,’ resulted in numerous terrorist casualties, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The military’s media affairs wing released a statement stating that the hideouts of terrorist organizations, specifically the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), were targeted in the operation ‘Marg Bar Sarmachar’.

“The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has reported that the operation against the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) was successful. The operation targeted hideouts that were reportedly being used by infamous terrorists. These individuals include those known by the aliases of ‘Dosta’ or ‘Chairman’, ‘Bajjar’ or ‘Soghat’, ‘Sahil’ or ‘Shafaq’, ‘Asghar’ or ‘Basham’, and ‘Wazir’ or ‘Wazi’, among others. The ISPR confirms that these hideouts have been successfully neutralized.”

Iran’s IRNA news agency disclosed that an assault on a village in the city of Saravan resulted in the death of nine individuals. According to Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi, all the deceased were foreign nationals.

On Tuesday, Iran initiated attacks in Pakistan, specifically targeting what it identified as bases for the militant group Jaish al-Adl in the border town of Panjgur in Balochistan. This was reported by Iranian state media and led to a strong rebuke from Islamabad and a downgrade in diplomatic relations.

These strikes by Iran are part of a sequence of attacks that have been carried out in Syria and Iraq in recent days, in retaliation to the recent terrorist attacks on Iranian soil. These actions have escalated worries about regional stability, especially in the context of the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

The media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces has declared that the forces are always prepared to safeguard Pakistani citizens against acts of terrorism.
