A senior representative of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has issued a stark warning, stating that should Israel launch a ground invasion of Gaza, the Palestinian resistance will make it a challenging and costly endeavor for Israeli troops. In a live speech on Saturday, Sheikh Qassem emphasized the resolve for victory on their part and the inevitable defeat of the occupiers. He stressed that Israel’s actions would not go unanswered.

Sheikh Qassem praised the achievements of the Palestinian resistance movement, particularly during Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, which began on October 7. He described it as a significant setback for Israel.

Furthermore, Sheikh Qassem criticized Western support for Israel, accusing them of complicity in the ongoing crimes. He also questioned the Western stance on the “two-state solution,” suggesting it serves to distract public opinion.

Sheikh Qassem accused Israel of conducting a systematic campaign against Palestinian civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, amounting to a form of genocide.

Regarding calls for Hezbollah’s involvement in the conflict, Sheikh Qassem mentioned that the organization has received requests but made it clear that they are already deeply engaged in the ongoing battle. He noted that the occupiers must cease their aggression to prevent further escalation.

Since the commencement of the war on Gaza on October 7, the toll on Palestinians has been severe, with over 4,385 Palestinians, primarily civilians, losing their lives, and more than 13,560 individuals sustaining injuries due to the intense bombardments.
