ALMATY, Jan 18 (Reuters) – Kazakhstan will allow Russian citizens to stay in Central Asian countries indefinitely by implementing so-called visa issuance every three months. will no longer be allowed to stay in the United States, the publication announced a government policy this week.

The Astana government has banned this practice from his 26th January, and for citizens of Russians and other members of the post-Soviet bloc, the Eurasian Economic Union, his three-month stay has been granted. He has asked them to leave the country for at least 90 days.

The Home Office, which proposed the reform, said it would tighten state controls over immigration.

Last year, tens of thousands of Russians, mostly young and middle-aged men, emigrated to Kazakhstan as Moscow, embroiled in the Ukrainian conflict, launched its first conscription campaign since World War II.

Russian is widely spoken in Kazakhstan, and the two countries share the longest continuous border in the world, making Kazakhstan a popular choice among Russians fleeing conscription.

But the country is suffering from an influx of Russians. Kazakhstan officials say unusually high capital inflows have contributed to inflation, with it surpassing 20% last year, reaching its highest level since the 1990s.

The war in Ukraine has also strained relations between Moscow and Astana.
