By Dr Shahid Qureshi:

Nawaz Sharif a Pakistani convicted criminal and three times former Prime Minister launched scathing attack at the Pakistan’s military and security establishment. He is living in London in his controversial Avenfield Apartments since November 2019, to receive medical treatment. He was speaking via video link to the All Parties Conference in Islambad. It seems Pakistani military establishment has some kind of ‘battered Wife Syndrome’ with Nawaz Sharif and his family as they keep going back to sharifs over and over again like an abused wife ignoring all the risks and previous experiences. Pakistani agency The ISI reported and recorded when Nawaz Sharif was recruited by the Indian RAW in Delhi.

A former ISI officer who wrote in his book.  So, ISI was not sleeping but politicians including Zia-ul-Haq were complicit in promoting this RAW asset.

According to a book, “Air Massacre over Bahawalpur” page 341, written by Commodore Tariq Majeed: “Nawaz Sharif’s Indian Connection: India’s RAW hosted Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Delhi in 1978 and cultivated him in some ways, but he had been picked up and programmed by RAW’s masters, CIA and Mossad, to serve, like Ms Bhutto, the Zionist interests. What gives special significance and authenticity to this disclosure is that its author was a member of the key staff in ISI when Nawaz was being hooked by RAW.

This is not like a spy story of James bond 007 stealing a secret of the enemy. What Nawaz Sharif and others in his team are doing is much more sophisticated and subtle. In modern world agents like Nawaz Sharif serve their masters in a very subtle way for example:

“it was Nawaz Sharif who confirmed the identity of only surviving alleged terrorist of Mumbai Attacks which was quoted all over the world”.

On the other hand, former IG Police of Mahrashtara said in his speech that Ajmal Kassab was in custody of the Indian Agency at the time of Mumbai Attacks. He is seeking re investigations of Mumbai Attacks and fighting case in the Indian High Court and case hearing is due in October 2016. I have spoken to him and he has confirmed to me that a trial hearing is due in October this year. He did not utter a word about the arrest of RAW agent Kulbhushan Yadave.

On 21 September 2020 the Pakistani APP reported: “Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday, while terming the all parties conference (APC) a ‘show of disappointment’, asked the opposition to “refrain from dragging state institutions into politics on the behest of Pakistan’s enemies”.

BALUCHISTAN TERRORISM – NAWAZ SHARIF REALLY AN INDIAN RAW ASSET?

“Governments come and go, but the opposition is in fact playing to the tunes of those desiring ill of the country,” the foreign minister said here at a news conference, flanked by Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz, Planning

Qureshi criticized the opposition’s open targeting of state institutions, including the army, the judiciary and the National Accountability Court (NAB), which, he said, was contrary to the national interest.

The opposition attacked an institution that always remained vigilant for defending the country’s sovereignty and laid immense sacrifices of lives.

He said the main motive behind the APC was the opposition’s failed attempt to get the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) rolled back.

“For the opposition, the rollback of NAB is an NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) of the time,” he said, referring to the deal made to accommodate the financially corrupt in the past.

“On being unsuccessful to pressurize Prime Minister Imran Khan for the NRO, the APC was called, which turned out to be a ‘mix of contradictions’,” he said, stressing that the government would not to succumb to any pressure in that regard.

RAHEEL SHARIF’S INDECISIVENESS ON ‘DAWN GATE’ SECURITY BREACH IS DAMAGING PAKISTAN

The foreign minister said the people were wise enough to judge the mala fide behind the APC that levelled incorrect allegations against the government and criticized the foreign policy.

“This is not a pain for democracy, but an expression of self-centred vested interests,” he said, terming APC an “insult to the voters’ mandate”.

On the opposition’s criticism of the Kashmir policy, he said the government effectively highlighted the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at all forums and supported the cause of its people.

“In their (PML-N) tenure, the use of word ‘Kashmir’ was prohibited to appease the neighbouring India,” he recalled.

There was the ‘contradiction’ in the stance of opposition political parties, which were part of the unanimous passing of resolutions in the Parliament tabled by the government on the Kashmir, Qureshi said.

The foreign minister categorically rejected the opposition’s claims of winding up the China- Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which, he said, had successfully entered into the second phase.

Recalling his meeting with his Chinese counterpart on August 21 in Beijing, Foreign Minister Qureshi said complete satisfaction was expressed from the other side over the pace of work on CPEC projects being carried out by the Government of Pakistan.

He said the opposition’s charge-sheet against economic situation was incorrect as Pakistan, even after the pandemic situation, was effectively recovering from the financial impact.

He mentioned that with the blessings of Almighty Allah, assistance by the friendly countries and an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the country witnessed significant improvement in overall economic indicators.

CAREFUL PINDI BOYS – ‘DEAL WITH RAW ASSET NAWAZ SHARIF, WOULD BE KISS OF DEATH’

He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had left the country with an economic disaster that required time and strategy to deal with.

On the opposition’s call for a demonstration in January, Qureshi said those, who supported a strict lockdown, were planning a get-together as the world warned of the second wave of COVID-19 during the winter.

“Giving resignations or not is up to them, but still there is enough time for them as usual to change their minds and end up with lame claims,” he said.

The minister said on the issue of Financial Action Task Force, the government put its best efforts to get the country out of grey list.

The opposition should “check within its ranks” to ascertain the cause of their embarrassment in the joint sitting of Parliament, he added.

To a question regarding any move to make Gilgit-Baltistan the fifth province, he said discussion would be held with the stakeholders keeping in view the longstanding demand of the people of GB.

The foreign minister said the world had acknowledged Pakistan’s role as a facilitator in restoration of peace process in the region.

Referring to the peace deal inked between the United States and Afghan Taliban in Qatar’s capital Doha this February, he said Pakistan had to its credit the historic resumption of Intra-Afghan Negotiations.

Earlier Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz Monday said Nawaz Sharif was not doing a service to democracy and Pakistan by trying to create chaos and controversy to discredit the present political set-up which he claimed to own.

He was addressing a press conference here along with Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, and Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain.

Shibli Faraz said Nawaz Sharif should not make the elections and democracy controversial as the country had done many favours to him.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan decided that the speeches of all the opposition leaders at all parties conference (APC) should be allowed to be aired.

The speeches of Asif Ali Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto, he said, were not stopped from being telecast. Maulana Fazlur Rehman protested to the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership that his speech was not allowed by them to be aired.

The minister said Nawaz Sharif in his speech tried to create doubts about the 2018 general election and prove that the same were rigged but the facts and figures negated his claim.

Nawaz Sharif, he said, remained prime minister thrice and considered only those elections fair in which he emerged victorious. In fact, he was not used to free and fair elections. He was angry because he could not get the required number of seats in the 2018 election to form a government, Shibli Faraz added.

The minister said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had demanded rechecking in four constituencies. PTI Chairman Imran Khan expressed his willingness to cooperate and work with the then government of Pakistan Muslim League(N) if nothing wrong was found in those constituencies.

Then a high court formed a commission in 2017 and elections in those constituencies were investigated and verified, he recalled.

Shibli Faraz said after the 2013 general election, 413 petitions were filed before the Election Commission. After the 2018 election, 299 petitions were filed in the Election Commission and 90 of them were related to the National Assembly constituencies.

A large number of petitions were filed by the PTI candidates, because 6 of its candidates had lost the election by margin of a few hundred or a few thousand votes, he explained.

The minister said according to Nawaz Sharif, if a court would decide in his favour then it would be fine, and if otherwise, he considered it wrong.

Likewise, if an election went in his favour, it was alright and otherwise it was not fair, he added.

Shibli Faraz said if the opposition had objection over elections then it should have asked for electoral reforms as they had members in the Parliament and provincial assemblies.

Last election reforms were done in the government of Nawaz Sharif, he added.
The minister viewed that Nawaz Sharif did not want free and fair elections but those of his choice.

He said Nawaz Sharif was enjoying good health in London as everybody saw him looking fresh, strong and healthy while addressing the APC. The question was whether he wanted to come back to Pakistan or he was still sick, and he would have to respond to that, Shibli Faraz concluded. (APP)
